Chef Hans Kaltenbach

opened the Beach House Cafe with his wife Keiko in 1994. Originally from the Black Forest in Germany, Hans started his culinary career at the Park Royal Hotel in West Vancouver. He went on to become Chef at the Ambleside Inn, working there for 4 years until opening his own restaurant Bistro Piccolo in West Vancouver. After 10 years of city living, Hans moved his family to Vancouver Island to open his dream restaurant on the beach. The Beach House Cafe offers a fine selection of seafood dishes along with some German dishes he grew up with. His clients from West Vancouver continue to visit the Beach House Cafe to experience Hans' delicious fare.
